One of the secrets to blogging success is publishing great content regularly, but coming up with fresh ideas for blogs can be a real challenge. Excellent writing skills are important, but unless you have engaging and helpful topics for your users, it’s a dead-end.
With over 600 million active websites and over 7.5 million blog posts published per day in 2023, surely there’s a whole heap of repetition and overlap in the vast internet universe. Indeed there is, but the trick is to make sure that any online content that you publish is original and appropriate to your industry niche. You can rehash, rewrite, redo, refresh and reimagine anyone’s old content, but you can’t simply repeat it.
Quality content is the cornerstone of successful SEO and it’s a recurring theme in The SEO School – my online self-managed course which teaches business owners and website managers how to boost their digital visibility. I cover the topic of blogs extensively during the course.
Blog posts have to be really useful to your audience and should position you (ie the author) and your business as industry leaders.
Even though you know your industry like the back of your hand and you’re in tune with your audience’s needs and wants, it can be hard work coming up with new ideas all the time.
This guide lists 14 blog post ideas you can steal. Well, it’s not stealing as such – it’s more like taking an item of used clothing and doing some alterations and adjustments using your own creative flair to make it your own. Remember, your content plan goes hand in hand with your SEO strategy.
Remember that everyone who reads your blog is human. They’re looking for information and they generally want a solution to a problem. Keep things real and personal and you’re likely to start forming a relationship with your readers through your blog posts.
Remember, the ideas may be the same so it’s absolutely fine to ‘steal’ blog post ideas, you just need to present the information in a fresh, new and creative way so that you answer your readers’ questions and engage them for longer.
